What is Pooka Farms & Rabbitry?
Welcome to Pooka Farms and Rabbitry—a joyful, growing farm family rooted in Alaska and guided by a love of animals, horsemanship, and community.
Originally based in Wasilla, we are thrilled to share that with our move to Homer and the purchase of 66 beautiful acres in Anchor Point, Pooka Farms is expanding and entering an exciting new chapter. These locations will now serve as our primary home base, while routine trips to the Mat-Su Valley will continue. We are happy to offer Pivo-based lessons and select in-person opportunities in the Valley as schedules allow, keeping us connected to the riders and families who have been part of our journey from the beginning.
At Pooka Farms, horsemanship is at the heart of what we do. We offer riding instruction for all levels—from first-time riders to experienced equestrians looking to refine their skills. Our approach focuses on confidence, clear communication, and building a meaningful partnership between horse and rider. Lessons are thoughtfully tailored to each individual’s goals, learning style, and experience level, ensuring a supportive and encouraging environment.
In addition to regular instruction, we host clinics and workshops that dive deeper into horsemanship, skill development, and rider education. Our horse training programs follow the same philosophy—patient, consistent, and grounded in positive reinforcement—supporting horses at every stage of their development, from young prospects to seasoned partners needing a tune-up.
Alongside our equestrian programs, Pooka Farms and Rabbitry is proud to raise exceptional rabbits, specializing in Champagne d’Argent, New Zealand, and Blanc de Hoot breeds. Our rabbitry reflects the same values we hold across the farm: excellent care, ethical breeding, and a genuine respect for each animal. From their stunning coats to their unique personalities, our rabbits are raised with intention and heart.

For our rabbit enthusiasts, we have refined our focus to offering purebred Champagne d'Argent and Silver Fox rabbits. These rabbits are available to 4-H participants and those looking to enhance their own rabbitry with top-quality genetics. Additionally, for those interested in raw feeding for dogs, we proudly supply raw rabbit to help pet owners provide wholesome nutrition to their canine companions.
